Okay, Okay, You Can Tase Me : How often do we all get tired, bored, lazy, and overwhelmed? It happens to everyone. Physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually, sometimes we just want to give up. In our relationship with God, it is easy to get distracted and sidetracked. We are attacked on all sides by things that try to take our attention away from the One who died for us and rose again, away from the One who paid the penalty for our sins, Jesus. Spiritually speaking, sometimes we get tired or lazy, overwhelmed or stretched too thin. Sometimes things don’t go the way we wanted them to go, or sometimes tragedy strikes our life and we just want to throw up our hands and quit. We’ve all been there, and if not, you will be at some point. But here’s the great thing!

“Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!” – Hebrews 12:2-3 (MSG)

This is such an amazing couple of verses! God’s Word tells us that when we get weary and tired, just look to Jesus, and keep our eyes focused on Him. Remember everything He did for us (like suffering a horrible, painful death for us that took away our sins so we can spend eternity with God in Heaven) and praise God! When we remember Jesus, God’s Word says it will be like a shot of “adrenaline into your souls”. Or in other words, like an electric shock that brings us back to love and joy and excitement. He will pump us up spiritually! We have the chance to be “tased” and have that jolt rejuvenate our souls and our lives!
