Faith, Hope, and Love: 1 Corinthians 13:13 – Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.
Love never fails. Take some time and go read 1 Corinthians 13. Yea, the whole chapter, go read it, it’s not that long. Guess what it talks about?!?! – LOVE.
You wouldn’t be overstepping your bounds if you said that love was a huge theme in the Bible. Jesus himself summed up all of God’s commandments in the Old Testament with these words, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.” So out of all the stuff God has commanded His people, Jesus tells us that to love God and to love others are the two most important things in the history of life.
It’s ok, I’ll wait for your mind to reboot just in case it was blown. Ha.
1 Corinthians 13:12-13 (MSG) – We don’t yet see things clearly. We’re squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won’t be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We’ll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us! But for right now, until that completeness, we have three things to do to lead us toward that consummation: Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly. And the best of the three is love.
Find a way in your life to live out your faith, hope in God’s promises, and love God and love others.
