Psalm 116:5-7
5 The LORD is gracious and righteous;
our God is full of compassion.
6 The LORD protects the simplehearted;
when I was in great need, he saved me.
7 Be at rest once more, O my soul,
for the LORD has been good to you.

Ephesians 2:4-9
4But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions-it is by grace you have been saved. 6And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, 7in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. 8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- 9not by works, so that no one can boast.

So Do You Open the Package Slowly, or Tear Into It?
As a follower of Jesus Christ, the word “grace” is one of the greatest words you cold ever learn about. Grace is best defined as an “undeserved gift”. So God’s grace is God’s gift to us, which is undeserved; meaning we didn’t do anything FOR God or give anything TO God to make Him want to give it to us. We didn’t earn it. And what is God’s gift to us? God’s gift is His love for us. It is because He loved us that He sacrificed His son to die in our place so that we can have forgiveness and live with Him eternally in Heaven. So it’s a pretty big thing. And it never stops. God’s love keeps on giving.

There is nothing you have done or can do to deserve God’s grace. You can’t work for it, earn it, achieve it, or buy it. All you can do it receive it. It’s a gift. It’s free!

When you feel God’s love today, stop down and lift up to Him a prayer of thanksgiving. Just thank Him for this great gift He has given to us. And if you haven’t felt His love in a while, spend some time with God today. Rake some stuff up and shuffle some other stuff around to make some time for God today. Just talk to Him. He wants it.
